Dayton Audio Reference RSS390HO ported enclosure, single 15-inch, with 2.02 cubic feet of net airspace tuned to 31 Hz through 28.9 square inches of port; the anechoic F3 is 34.3 Hz.

Tuning at 31 Hz is where the port takes over from the cone. Above it the box behaves like a large sealed enclosure; around it output rises several dB for the same power; below it the cone unloads, so set a subsonic filter 5 to 10 Hz under tuning.

28.9 square inches of port area keeps air velocity down at high output, so the port does not chuff when the music gets loud.
