Dayton Audio Reference RSS390HO ported wedge enclosure, single 15-inch, with 1.92 cubic feet of net airspace tuned to 31.5 Hz through 23 square inches of port; the anechoic F3 is 35.2 Hz.
Tuning at 31.5 Hz is where the port takes over from the cone. Above it the box behaves like a large sealed enclosure; around it output rises several dB for the same power; below it the cone unloads, so set a subsonic filter 5 to 10 Hz under tuning.
23 square inches of port area keeps air velocity down at high output, so the port does not chuff when the music gets loud.
The wedge profile leans into the seat back with the baffle toward the trunk lid, so the cargo floor in front of it stays usable.
Construction: 3/4-inch MDF with a double-layer 1.5-inch front baffle, the outer layer recessed so the driver sits flush, V-groove and dado joinery at the panel seams. Polyfill pre-installed and terminal cup fitted.
Check your driver's mounting depth against the 7.01-inch figure in the specifications. The published figures are for the single 4 ohm versions of the driver. Not sure the driver matches? Send us the model number and we will check it against the spec sheet before you order.
