JL Audio 10W0v3 Ported Down Fire Enclosure, Single 10″

JL Audio 10W0v3 ported down fire enclosure, single 10-inch, with 1.26 cubic feet of net airspace tuned to 33.5 Hz through 18.8 square inches of port; the anechoic F3 is 30.7 Hz.

The port is tuned to 33.5 Hz. Expect a lift of several dB around that point relative to the same driver sealed, and run a subsonic filter 5 to 10 Hz below it; under tuning the port stops loading the cone.

18.8 square inches of port area keeps air velocity down at high output, so the port does not chuff when the music gets loud.

Down-firing puts the cone against the floor: protected from whatever rides in the trunk, with a usable flat top.

Construction: 3/4-inch MDF with a double-layer 1.5-inch front baffle, the outer layer recessed so the driver sits flush, V-groove and dado joinery at the panel seams. Polyfill pre-installed and terminal cup fitted.
